Our Mission is to provide a comprehensive Apprenticeship Training program to support the Employers and the Local Union 258 IBEW in their quest to maintain a highly-skilled workforce.

What We Are About

The Joint Line Apprenticeship Training Association JLATA is an organization formed by British Columbia Powerline Contractors and Local Union 258 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers to manage, ensure quality assurance in program development, and oversee the Powerline Technician Apprenticeship Program in British Columbia.  Our resolute staff and Board of Directors follow “the progression of each Apprentice” from when they become an Apprentice until they complete their Red Seal Certificate of Qualification. The JLATA has an exemplary relationship with all Powerline Contractors that employ Apprentices and with Local 258 IBEW.

JLATA Apprentices are employed by British Columbia’s most experienced Powerline Contractors. Who work together to bring power from BC Hydro, Fortis, and other power producers to communities throughout BC and to construction projects in the mining and forestry industries.
